Ready for your first tropical family getaway at Beaches Resorts? At Beaches all inclusive Resorts in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos, you can play on pristine, white-sand beaches caressed by crystal-clear seas, spend your family vacation in luxurious rooms and suites, and enjoy a whole array of incredibly exciting and fun activities for kids of every age. Here are some key tips for first-time Beaches Resorts guests!
Rooms for Families Traveling Together
Traveling together with the whole family for your Beaches Resorts vacation? There are plenty of options for families who want to have plenty of space for everyone, but to still be located together. Two and three-bedroom Together Nest suites offer multiple bedrooms and shared living spaces, or there are also options for connecting rooms.
Complimentary Kids Camp for All Ages
At Beaches Resorts, they have facilities and trained staff to accommodate the smallest infants up to the most independent teens - plus, facilities are typically open until around 9PM, allowing time for parents to have a leisurely dinner together while the kids are enjoying the Kids Camp. Children are grouped by age and each group has their own age-appropriate activities supervised by trained nannies.
All nannies and Kids Camp staffers at Beaches Resorts are members of the International Nanny Association, America's oldest and largest in-home child care association. To become accredited, each nanny must meet the minimum requirement of 2,000 hours of child-care services. Additionally, nannies have been trained in safety, nutrition and child development.
Special Sesame Street Experiences
If your children love Sesame Street, then Beaches Resorts are the perfect place to make special memories with their favorite characters! There are daily activities in the Kids Camp with Sesame Street characters, from story time with Elmo to baking with Cookie Monster. The whole family can also enjoy Sesame Street stage shows and character parades. For an extra-special experience, guests can also opt for a Sesame Street VIP Package, such as a character dining experience or a bedtime story with their favorite character, for an additional fee. Reservations for special add-on character experiences can be made in advance of your trip, or upon arrival - keep in mind that availability is limited, so if this is a high priority you'll want to make them in advance.
Adults Only
Beaches Resorts are for everyone, but there are some adults-only spaces available at Beaches Resorts. One or two of the resort's bars and lounges are adults-only, and there's typically an adults-only piano bar with entertainment several times a week. At Beaches Turks & Caicos, the French restaurant Le Petit Chateau is only available for guests ages 12 and up, Sky Restaurant is only available for guests ages 16 and up for dinner, and Sapodilla's Restaurant is adults-only.
Dressing for Dinner
As you put together your packing list for your vacation, along with your swimsuit and sunscreen, you'll want to pack outfits for dinner. Most restaurants at Beaches Resorts have a casual dress code, meaning that shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, and sneakers are fine. Some restaurants have a resort evening dress code, which includes long pants and dress shirts (with or without collar) for men and dress shoes or sandals. T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, hats and caps, shorts, sneakers, and flip-flops are not allowed at restaurants with a resort evening dress code.
Dining Reservations
If you're thinking of a nice dinner out for the family, or as a couple, it's best to book some dinner reservations once you arrive at your resort. A few select restaurants at each resort require reservations, so you'll want to make them soon after you arrive to guarantee a table. Keep in mind that only a few restaurants require reservations - there's still a wide variety of upscale and casual dining venues that don't require prior arrangements.
Tipping is Included, with Some Exceptions
At your Beaches Resort, gratuities are not required, and accepting tips is prohibited, so you don't need to worry about additional gratuities at your resort. The only exception to this rule on your resort is butlers, who are allowed to accept gratuities. Gratuities for purchased spa services are also appropriate. Outside of your resort there may be some instances where it's considered appropriate to tip, such as your driver to and from your resort and tour guides for tours off your resort. US Dollars are commonly accepted in the resort areas of most Caribbean islands.
