Why You Should Visit Disneyland Resort This Fall

Disneyland Resort is magical at any time of year, but fall is one of my favorite times to visit! Check out all the reasons to visit Disneyland Resort this fall.

Main Street Electrical Parade Back for a Limited Time

Since its debut performance almost 50 years ago, the Main Street Electrical Parade has become an icon of Disneyland Park. This nighttime spectacle features half-million sparkling lights and “electro-syntho-magnetic musical sounds.” The parade will travel down Main Street, U.S.A., for a limited-time engagement taking place nightly, from Aug. 2 through Sept. 30.

Halloween at Disneyland Park

Every year from early September through Halloween, Disneyland Park get spooky with special entertainment, decorations, attraction overlays, and more! At Disneyland Park, enjoy special character appearances such as villains and Jack Skellington, as well as two incredible attraction overlays: Haunted Mansion Holiday transforms the Haunted Mansion into the story of Jack Skellington’s dubious quest to take over Christmas, while Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy takes guests on a frightening intergalactic flight to face some strange cosmic phenomena. Halloween Time at Disneyland begins on September 6.

Halloween at Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure Park also gets spooky for the season with fun decorations, overlays, and characters. You’ll enjoy incredible Halloween decorations and your favorite Cars characters in costume in Cars Land, or you can take on a new adventure when Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! takes on a special Monsters After Dark experience for the Halloween season.

Oogie Boogie Bash

New for 2019, guests can bring some extra spookiness to their visit with the Oogie Boogie Bash, a special ticketed event at Disney California Adventure featuring exclusive entertainment, character, trick-or-treating, and more! This special event runs on select nights beginning September 17.

  • Mickey’s Trick & Treat – Perfect for little monsters, this new, interactive stage production invites kids of all ages to join Mickey Mouse and his pals as they throw a one-of-a-kind Halloween party! Enjoy dancing, not-so-frightening scary-tales and candy at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.

  • Villains Grove – Transformed into a wondrous and ethereal world inspired by Disney villains unlike anything seen before, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will become Villains Grove, tricked out in a dreamlike environment perfect for kids to explore. This family-friendly experience will entice your children with a series of Halloween scenes, each creating a not-so-scary symphony of sound, light and shadows for you and your little ones to explore together!

  • Immersive Treat Trails – Take your tiny tykes trick-or-treating at the new, wonderfully wicked treat trails throughout the park. Little ones will be able to see Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” and even Oogie Boogie himself! Additional treat trails will feature oversized cauldrons full of treats for children of all ages to enjoy.

  • “Frightfully Fun Parade” – Children will love dancing along to this fan-favorite parade coming to Disney California Adventure park for the first time! The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow starts the procession, followed by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse who lead the cavalcade of characters and many mischievous Disney villains who are ready to stir up some trouble along the parade route. Children will love seeing their favorite characters dance and singing to the spell-binding songs of the Halloween season!

  • “Villainous!” – Kids will love watching the twisted tale about the young girl Shelley Marie in the new “World of Color” nighttime spectacular. This Halloween story takes you on an unforgettable journey through devious encounters with The Queen, Ursula, Dr Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent and more! Children will be dazzled with the special effects—from the fountains and lights, to lasers and projections. “Villainous!” shows that, deep down, there’s a little villain in all of us!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, one of the most anticipated new lands at a Disney theme park, is now open at Disneyland Park! This new land features incredible attractions, adventurous encounters, and immersive theming to take guests right into the Star Wars universe, including Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run where guests will be able to pilot the Millennium Falcon. Build your own lightsaber or droid, avoid the First Order and locate the Resistance in Black Spire Outpost, sample intergalactic flavors and sip on infamous Blue Milk, encounter your favorite Star Wars heroes and villains, and more!
