Travel Resolutions You Need for 2019: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

With all of the new experiences that travel can offer, travel is often about more than having fun - it's also about seeing new places, meeting new people, and trying new things, even things you may have never thought you'd try.

Resolution #3: Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Travel is often about more than having fun - it's also about seeing new places, meeting new people, and trying new experiences, even things you may have never thought you'd try. Years ago I wouldn't have dreamed that I'd be comfortable traveling by myself, navigating strange cities and airports, but now I'm able to do it on a regular basis. I never thought that I'd be willing to try snorkeling (I'm not much of a swimmer, and I'm not much for athletic activity in general), but I got the chance during a cruise and I'm so happy I did it! It was more fun and a lot less scary than I expected it to be.

There are all kinds of opportunities while traveling to try something new, whether it's a big leap outside your comfort zone or a baby step, and can be anything from exploring a new destination to trying a new food, to trying out an activity you never thought you'd try.

On a visit to Nicaragua during a cruise, our agent Kenneth got out of his comfort zone on with an incredible guided hike around a volcano! You can check out more of his story here.

Getting out of your comfort zone is one of the things that makes travel an important experience - it opens you up to new things that you might not have tried otherwise. Wherever you travel, I encourage you to try something new that you might not normally try.
